Teaching
I am a fully qualified, experienced and knowledgeable teacher with a very individualized approach to every student, planning lessons according to particular requirements, needs and abilities. I explain the material in a variety of ways, taking into consideration diverse learning styles, goals, different personalities as well as piano skills level.
In my way of teaching I attach a great importance to forming the foundations of a good piano technique, developing the ear and a strong sense of pulse and rhythm, which all have the use not only in classical but also in all other styles of music. Into all lessons I incorporate elements of music theory to ensure students’ full understanding of music they play. At the same time, I focus on shaping my students’ imagination, musicality and artistic sensitivity but crucial for me is also building in them the ability of self-reliant and effective work at home as well as the ability of concentrating and finding ways to manage a stage-fright during public performances
My positive attitude, creativity and patience help me to build a good atmosphere and learning environment for my students. I always aim to make lessons fun, inspiring and enjoyable but at the same time I do demand the best from my pupils.
As a graduate of two universities I have an extensive knowledge of music history, theory, musical genres and piano literature, gained through years of study and practice. Although, what matters to me for being a good teacher is not only the knowledge itself but also the ability of using it and passing it on to students in an effective way. Teaching piano is my passion, therefore, I take an advantage of any professional development opportunity to improve my skills and to learn more and more how to be an efficient instructor and pedagogue.
I participated in numerous piano masterclasses and trainings for teachers, getting familiar with a variety of teaching strategies and approaches to students of different ages and abilities.
I am a full member of European Piano Teachers Association (EPTA) and Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) as well as a holder of Qualified Teacher Status and up-to-date DBS check.
